We get several calls and
e-mails each day asking for drivers or documentation for some
of the thousands of products we have posted on the internet.
We recommend:
- http://www.driversguide.com/ Help yourself.
- If you don't find it there
chances we
won't be able to find it either. In order to undertake
the job of looking for it
we charge $50. Really.
This work (and it is work) takes us away from other
presumably
productive activities. We're glad to put down one kind
of work for another
but we're unable to put down paying work
for the other kind.
- If you still think we may be able to provide
you with a driver
and not charge you for it
here are some of
the things people have asked us to do:
- Open a shrink-wrapped software package
copy the manual
and FAX it to them (answer
no)
- Find it somewhere on the web
(they couldn't
find it anywhere) download it
and attach it to an e-mail
and
send it off for free (answer
no).
- Copy licensed software and send it to
them (answer
no).
You see how silly this gets. We're really
not in the business of doing this
and only list our policy here
because we continue to be asked. If anyone reading this has another
source for drivers
please send us the link and we'll be glad
to add it to the short list above.
